PROBLEMS & SUFFERINGS OF THE POOR PEOPLE OF SHAPLA CHOTTOR

Do You know how much money does a rickshaw puller or a cobbler or a raw hide worker or a day labor or a sweeper earn in Bangladesh? Do you know how they are passing their daily life?

They earn only $ 4/day. You couldn't imagine with this tiny amount they have to maintain a family of 5 to 8 members ! This is the real fact. 

These people & their families are facing the following problems regularly

1. High percentage of earning spent on food, still malnourished. 

2. A large sections of them eat two meals, male child or earning 
male members may get three meals. 

3. Children mostly drop out in primary classes or do not join 
school- turn street children.

4.They mostly take loan from private sources or moneylenders 
and are perpetually in loan. 

5. Unable to save regularly.

6.They face silent and deliberate exclusion from- municipal 
and government services, land for housing or 
shelter schemes, master plan, micro-credit, other NGO and 
government programs, public space, national policies as well as 
national budget.

Exclusion leads to extreme deprivation and make 
them pay for their basic needs more than the rich pay.
